im truly amazed and appalled by this..
well let me explain.. i was teaching tuition to my kids just now.. and they all doing work, whne my youngest tutee, in K2 now, asked me questions on how to pronounce some words.. well i was telling him what it means and stuff.. and the conversation digressed to teaching or specifically teachers.. i was telling him anyone can be a teacher.. even him.. suddenly he burst out and said, 'No i'm not! teachers are girls!'
can you see how taken aback i was? he has already associated the teaching profession to a female sector.. haha.. talking about inequality here..
i mean its really true the belief on how kids can be ignorant, but at the same time they are the best critiques as they do observe and come up with assumptions that have been an issue within the education policies in itself..
and again, hes only 6 years old mind you.. well, to feed your curiousity, i answered and told him that his thinking will change because when he enters Edgefield Pri next year, he will see that there are many male teachers in the school, and that anyone can really be teachers.. him too.. haha
well, now back to studying for my Science exams.. this sem is really just chaotic..
i need a break.. but i foresee getting it only in november.. how long is that? but then again time is passing too quickly.. so is Ramadhan.. haiz..
